A stepped platform and ramp system built for a big drop from land to water — and for a lake that changes level through the season.
This shoreline drops hard. Getting from solid ground down to the water meant a run of platforms and ramps rather than a single span, each section taking part of the height so no one piece is steep enough to be uncomfortable.
The ramps are hinged where they meet the floating sections, which is what lets the whole thing follow the water. As the lake drops through the summer the angle changes and the dock keeps working — nothing needs lifting, re-setting or re-levelling.
Finished with rope railings and low-voltage lighting set flush into the deck, so the walk down is safe after dark without lighting up the bay.
A pole dock and ramp system carrying past a long shallow shelf, so the dock is still usable when the lake drops late in the season.
